Renaissance Southend and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council have worked closely together in preparing the Regeneration Framework that sets out the long-term strategy for achieving sustainable and ambitious regeneration and growth up to 2021 and beyond. The strategy recognises that Southend is underperforming in some important respects, and identifies a range of opportunities for public intervention to revive and transform the local economy and physical environment.
The Regeneration Framework is complemented by the Council’s own Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.
The Regeneration Framework identifies six priorities to deliver sustainable regeneration and growth:
Central Southend as a Regional Centre
Developing London Southend Airport and A127 Industrial Corridor
Regenerating Shoeburyness
Enhancing Green Infrastructure
Improving Transport Infrastructure
Advancing Culture & Heritage
