Gunners Park Heritage Centre

The site of Gunners Park is part of the former Garrison at Shoebury. The 97 hectares site has been transferred to Southend-on-Sea Borough Council as part of an agreement with the developers of the Garrison. Proposals for the Park include the provision of new play equipment, car parking, a cycle path network and a Heritage and Visitor Centre. The Park will represent an important resource and focal point for the existing and new communities of Shoeburyness and create a sense of place and civic pride in an area that currently has limited access to formal open space. The site also includes a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) that offers people the opportunity to experience rare natural habitats and benefit from interaction within the wider natural landscape.

We are working with the Essex Wildlife Trust and the Council on a design for the proposed Heritage and Visitor Centre.
