Our objective is to preserve the Victorian heritage of the Cliffs and the relaxing and recreational experience of the Western Esplanade promenade.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and RSL are working together to develop a long term strategy to rectify and secure the geology of the Cliffs, possibly including the development of a new Heritage Centre based around providing a home for the Saxon King (See under Advancing Culture & Heritage). Further geological investigation is being contemplated and a feasibility study to determine suitability of the location for a new Heritage Centre is underway.
