Sept 08 - London Road Revised Planning Application

Hollybrook, the owner of the former College site in London Road, has submitted a revised planning application for permission to develop the site for 560 student flats, 312 parking spaces and 800sqm of commercial space.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and the University of Essex are in discussion with Hollybrook with regard to the proposed development and its contribution to the central area masterplan.

Renaissance Southend and its regeneration partners, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, South East Essex College, University of Essex, East of England Development Agency and the Government’s Thames Gateway Executive, are working together to help put in place the means of securing an important part of the central area masterplan that will enable the College and University to continue to develop their facilities in the centre of Southend.
