Renaissance Southend Ltd, the regeneration company for Southend-on-Sea, has appointed Murray Foster as its new Vice Chairman. With over 20 years’ involvement within the town, he recognises its immense potential – and aims to unlock it.
A member of the Board for 12 months, Murray has been hugely supportive of Southend through his involvement in a wide range of unpaid voluntary roles.
These positions include Chair of Southend Business & Tourism Partnership and chairing responsibilities within the Local Strategic Partnership, “Southend Together”, Living East cultural consortium for East of England; and the Essex Chambers of Commerce.
Murray was also previously Leader of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, although he is no longer involved in the political scene. Murray is also on the Board of Circle Anglia Housing Association, the third largest housing association in the UK.
