First signs of regeneration to appear in Southend

Siteboard East 15

Siteboard UoE

Signs outlining the start of vital new regeneration schemes are set to appear at key locations around Southend in the next few weeks. The signs or site boards, are intended to let local residents know that work has started or is about to begin on a wide range of projects designed to help transform the town over the next 12 years.

The first will appear at the former college in London Road, where work has begun on new accommodation for students at the University of Essex with replacement parking below for Southend-on-Sea Borough residents. Another is planned for the new E15 Clifftown Studios for the University of Essex where construction to convert the former Church is now well underway.

The site boards, coordinated by regeneration company Renaissance Southend, will carry the logos of all the individual partners involved in helping to change the face of the town and will demonstrate to local people that plans made several years ago are now nearing fruition.
