Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are seeking expressions of interest from experienced companies to tender for the construction work required for the redevelopment of Warrior Square Gardens.
The contract entails the removal of the existing planted and hard landscaped areas and the provision of a new limestone plaza and pedestrian routes around the square. The project requires the construction of a kiosk/café. Key components also include high quality paving materials, bespoke timber benching and timber bridge, planting beds, lighting and a landscaped play area.
Companies must be able to demonstrate:
• Suitable experience of delivering large scale high quality public realm schemes
• Proven experience of working as a main Contractor to deliver successful projects and engage sub-contractors at the appropriate level and stage of construction process.
• Proven experience of working with Local Authorities on public realm schemes and the ability to liaise with the local community.
• The ability to undertake the construction works within the set timescales
It is intended that construction works for the contract will commence in October 2009.
